This simple yet challenging exercise is one of the most valuable for developing a truly functional core. Pictured are soccer players using this exercise as part of a warm-up on the field. Partner Core Bracing may be done at home or on any practice field using any kind of ball, a baseball glove, or just your hands.
- Partner A and Partner B stand facing one another in Ab Draw position.
- Partner A holds a ball or just their hands to the front, elbows in tight to sides, while Partner B adds 10 seconds of resistance to the right side of the ball, 10 seconds to the left, 10 seconds pressing down from the top, then 10 seconds pressing up from the bottom.
- During exertion, both partners should practice Core-Bracing by drawing abs in and down. Relax the core between each phase of exertion.
- Partners switch positions and repeat the steps.
